Mon, Oct 2 practice from 4:45 to 6:15
 
Wed, Oct 4th practice from 5:30 to 7:00 – Following this practice there be a quick coaches meeting for all group 1 skaters & parents who are interested in helping on Mondays with the Learn to Skate program to go over each groups roles in skater development.
 
Regular Monday/Thursday practices begin Mon, Oct 9th
5:15-5:45 Group 4: Learn to Skate
5:15-6:00 Group 3 & 2: Learn to Speed Skate & Intro to Competitive Speed Skating
6:00-7:15 Group 1: Competitive Speed Skating ($10 drop in fee applies to all skaters who not a member of the HSSC club)

Fall Ice – Group 1 & 2

Skaters from all clubs in group 1 & 2 (competitive speed skating) are welcome to join us for fall ice.

There is a $10.00 drop in fee.

Early sessions will be technical in nature and longer slower/medium paced laps (so lots of position {both body as well as track} and proper controlled pushing ). Don’t expect anything fast.

Wednesday Sept 20th – 5:00 – 6:30 pm
Wednesday Sept 27th – 5:00 – 6:30 pm
Monday Oct 2nd – 4:45 – 6:15 pm

MARCH 27 – Last night of skating

Our last night of skating is on Monday, March 27. We will end the year with Pizza & Pin Party

We will start the evening upstairs in the Ossekeag room at 5:15 with Pizza and Pins.

We are looking for some parents to provide some peanut-free sweets such as a fruit tray &/or cookies.

A family skate will follow until 7:15.

Please wear a helmet if you are skating.

If you have SKATE RENTALS please return them on this night. Boots, blades, soft & hard guards.

Monday, Dec 12

The Hampton Speed Skating club does not cancel skating unless we have no coaches or the arena closes.
We leave the decision to attend to the discretion of the parents.
Tonight there IS skating as usual tonight, Dec 12, 2016  for those who wish to attend.
Just a reminder we will be hosting our skating party next Monday, Dec 18.

Group 1 & 2, we have ice on our regular days (Mon & Thurs) from 5:15-6:15 during the Christmas break to prepare you for the St Croix meet.  Registrations for this meet are now open and online.

We will be hosting our annual speed skate meet on Saturday, January 21.  We will need help from ALL our club members
How can you help?
  • Have you eligible skater participate in the meet (Ask your coach if you can skate competitive or exhibition)
  • Donate food items to help feed our volunteer officials  (They officiate all day and this is your way of saying thank you)
  • Donate money to help pay for the food
  • Volunteer on the day of the meet.  It takes about 60 volunteers to make our meet happen.  Ask Charles MacNeil, Richard Malone or Nicky Scott how you can help or email the club.

2015-16 Seasons is coming to an end

Our skating season is coming to an end soon.
  1. I will have tax receipts available starting tonight and again next week.
  2. There is NO skating on the March Break – March 7-11
  3. Group 1 – Competitive Skaters (skaters who skate Monday & Thursday) will have their last practice on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23 from 5:45-7:15 Yes this is a Wednesday!  We exchanged with Figure skating to accommodate their competition.
